How It All Started

Mel Skincare was born in November 2024, but the story began long before that.

In 2015, Melany Scott opened the doors to her very first beauty salon—right from her home in Ede, the Netherlands. At the time, she was also working at a high-end salon in Amsterdam. Her days started early: from 9:00 to 11:00 she treated her own clients at home, then rushed to Amsterdam to work from 13:00 until 22:00. She repeated this routine three days a week, and on the remaining days, she worked full-time in her home salon—often from 9:00 to 21:00. It was a grind. Seven days a week. Non-stop. But Melany had a vision.

As her client list grew and word-of-mouth spread, her home salon became busier than ever. Slowly, she reduced her hours in Amsterdam until she was finally able to take the leap and resign completely. By 2019, demand had skyrocketed, and her little salon was bursting at the seams. She faced a choice: stop taking on new clients or expand. She chose to grow.

Melany rented her first official space with two treatment rooms and hired her very first employee—a nerve-wracking yet exciting step. Business thrived. Then came COVID. Lockdowns hit hard. Like many entrepreneurs, Melany faced the unknown. But through resilience and determination, she and her team weathered the storm.

Today, her salon has grown into a tight-knit team of three passionate professionals, and Melany herself brings over a decade of hands-on experience in skincare. Through years of treating real clients and hearing real concerns, she knew exactly what was missing in the market. That’s when the dream of her own skincare line started to take shape.

Mel Skincare was created with one clear mission: to offer skin-loving, honest products that deliver real results. No harsh alcohols. No synthetic fragrances. No empty promises.
